Karthi, the hero of ace director Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Kaatru
Veliyidai, has confessed that without an iota of doubt, it would be the
‘dream film’ of his career.
Starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyadri (remember her in Sringaram which
released some years back?) have been paired up opposite each other in
Kaatru Veliyidai which would be Mani Ratnam’s next film after last
year’s hit film O Kadhal Kanmani. A.R. Rahman would score the while
Ravivarman would be the cinematographer of the film. Though it would be
shot in Tamil, it would be dubbed and released in Telugu and Malayalam.
Tweeting about the film on his Twitter account, Karthi said “Kaatru
Veliyidai is really the ‘dream film’ of my career. It’s an opportunity
for me to learn new things and I thank all those who have wished me
well!” Suriya, Karthi’s elder brother and who had essayed the lead role
in Mani Ratnam’s Aidha Ezhuthu, has endorsed Karthi’s view on his
Twitter account.
For Karthi, who worked as an assistant director under Mani Ratnam in
2003, it’s a huge leap indeed to be directed by his mentor and guru!
