The manager of an oil company died in a hotel room after suffering stroke at Shamshabad on Saturday night. Balaswamy, a resident of Chennai, had come to the city for a promotional event conducted by his company V. V. D. Oil company.
He was residing at Vijaya Residency hotel on the Shamshabad main road, when the incident took place late in the night. A case was registered under the CrPC by the RGIA police.
The Lake police on Saturday rescued a 16-year-old girl from Hussainsagar after she tried to commit suicide by jumping into the water body. The Intermediate first year student, who is a resident of Old Boiguda, tried to end her life after her father scolded her for not helping her mother with the household work and chatting with friends on her phone instead.
According to the Lake police, the 16-year-old decided to take the extreme step after her mother also chided her for not helping her with the housework. Her attempt was foiled as the cops immediately noticed her and saved her life.
She was counselled and later handed over to her parents.
