The Virudhunagar district police on Sunday arrested
three more persons in relation to the sensational robbery at a private
gold finance firm at Pandalkudi last week. They arrested eight people,
including a cashier of the company, on Saturday and recovered 478
sovereigns of gold and Rs. 63,500 cash from them.
Sources
said that the gang had given a portion of the stolen property to the
three arrested on Sunday – Santhanam (31) and Parameswaran (32) from
Virudhunagar district and Dhanushkodi (45) from Madurai.
Another
6.25 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs. 3.9 lakh cash was recovered
from the three men. A total of 625 sovereigns of gold ornaments had been
reportedly stolen from the firm.
