Pattamadai police have arrested a milk vendor for allegedly murdering a youth.
The police said M. Nambi (42) of Kesavasamudram near Pattamadai used to mock at E. Arumugadas (30) of the same area of having married a “not-so-good” girl. When Nambi teased Arumugadas on Tuesday evening, the latter hacked him, his wife N. Pappathi (35) and relative R. Gomathi (35).
On hearing about this attack, Nambi’s brother-in-law L. Arunachalam (31), a milk vendor, beat Arumugadas with an iron rod in which the victim sustained a head injury and died on the spot.
After arresting Arunachalam, Pattamadai police rushed Nambi, Pappathi and Gomathi to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.
